J. Elizabeth Richey
Postdoctoral Scholar, Carnegie Mellon University, Human-Computer Interaction Institute
I received my PhD in cognitive psychology from the University of Pittsburgh's Learning Research & Development Center in 2015. I previously served as an assistant professor of educational psychology at Miami University from 2015 to 2017. I am also an associate editor of the Journal of Research in Childhood Education.
I conduct learning sciences research, with particular interests in educational technology, example-based learning, explanation, collaboration, motivation, and belonging. Through laboratory experiments and classroom studies, I examine cognitive, metacognitive, and motivational factors that influence math and science learning from middle school through college.
